The Natural Gate's Horsemanship Clinics

Here is a note sent by someone who attend one of the horsemanship clinic's that was held at TheNaturalGait and presented by Terri Jordan resident foundation horsemanship trainer.



Hello Terri,

Thank you to all the folks at The Natural Gait for a great weekend attending Terri Jordan’s Ala Carte riding clinic.  Terri is a very talented horsewoman and instructor.   She helped us with controlling the different parts of the horse and using those movements to be safe on the ground and in the saddle.    She recognized the timid horses and helped them by asking small steps and rewarded the try.  The owners of these horses will teach them by going more slowly too.  She helped the two exuberate horses  show more respect to their owners.  The humans are going to be more clear and ask more from these energetic horses.  At the end of our on the ground time we had the option of doing different obstacles.
We were testing our relationship with our horse and Terri was there to help us be successful.  Some of the obstacles were dragging a bag of Aluminum cans, walking over a collection of hula hoops, picking up a rain slicker, and walking through a small wading pool filled with sawdust.
After we practiced moving the different parts of our horses we did the obstacles while mounted.
On Sunday we had two hours of individual lessons.  It was a great review from our lessons on Saturday and we had help with specific issues.  I am looking forward to the next time I can ride with Terri.


I want to Thank you so much for your help with Jay.  All those little things that I picked up will be so helpful with him.
I hope that we can ride together again soon.  Thank you too for helping Harley.  It was so nice of Donna to loan Buddy to help
with Harley’s riding.
